One of the more important appliances in your home is the hot water heater, as it delivers hot water for various applications. If your unit is currently malfunctioning and warrants a replacement, consider this guide. It will help you choose the perfect hot water heater.
Today, there are several different types of hot water heaters you can purchase for your home. Some of the most popular include storage, tankless, heat pump, and solar units. Storage water heaters are the most common, and as their name implies, warrant a storage space to fit appropriately.
If you don't want to worry about a tank and maintaining it, a tankless water heater is your best bet. As far as energy efficiency, solar units are ideal. They'll work by harnessing the sun's energy. Heat pump water heaters are unique in that they move heat from one area to another as opposed to creating heat directly.
One of the more important factors to assess with hot water heaters today is size. There are many to choose from and which size you need depends a lot on your home's water usage.
For example, if you use a lot of hot water each day and have multiple family members living in the property, you'll need a fairly large tank size. Conversely, if it's just you and you don't rely on hot water so much, you can get away with choosing a smaller tank.
If you're not sure what size is optimal, there should be charts you can access online that suggest tank sizes based on your home's monthly water usage.
There are several fueling options for hot water heaters today. This is an important factor to assess right out of the gate. These options include natural gas, electricity, propane, and solar energy.
Electricity is one of the most popular fuel options because of its flexible design. Natural gas and propane are typically the more affordable fueling options. If you're looking to save even more money, then you would certainly want a solar energy fuel source. It could save you hundreds on energy costs.
At some point, you may have to invest some money in a new hot water heater. This is an important investment and to ensure you make the right call, be sure to carefully weigh your options. At the end of the day, find a heater that you're comfortable using, fits your budget, and has the right features. Hi everyone, my name is Linda Strickerts. I am going to talk about plumbing pipes problems, repairs and upgrades on this site. Although the pipes hide beneath the floors and behind the walls, they are an integral part of the home. Without plumbing pipes, we would still be heading out to the outhouse to do our business. Washing clothes, dishes and ourselves would also not be possible without carrying buckets of water in and out of the home. I hope to explore the different ways plumbing pipes changed our lives for the better. I will talk about keeping the pipes in great shape as well. Thanks.
